Blog Post # 7
Choose one of the choices below to write for our next blog post! Then once everyone had written you can start to comment on what other people wrote. All of the posts that you make should be no less than 150 words, and the comments should be no less than 75 words. Have fun and comment away!
Choice 1:
What is your definition of a true friend? Why is that your definition of a true friend? Name a real life someone who is a true friend and how are they a true friend? What is your definition of a person who is not a true friend? Why is that your definition of not a true friend? Name a real life someone who resembles the definition of being not a true friend.
Choice 2:
Name a time when you knew that you were not a true friend and one time when you were. What was some of the con’s of this choice you took? What was some of the pro's that happened when you made the choice you made?
Choice 3:
What would be your ideal friend? What would make them your ideal friend? What would make you not be their friend?

Part II.

Blog Entry/Comment #5
Hello everybody!! By now you should have a list of questions about the problem you have chosen to explore. Its time to find some of those answers! Its time to look up resources to help you answer your questions. Here are some important things to consider as you explore the internet:
1) The best websites are those that end with .gov or .edu. They will give you objective (unbiased) information. Check out fedstats.gov for statistics!
2) Sometimes websites that end it .org are useful, but be careful - many of the people who give information on these sites have their own ideas and are trying to persuade you to think a certain way.
3) Before you use information for any website, you should check and see who the author of the site is (you wouldn't believe any random person on the street, right?)
As you investigate some of your questions today, you will be keeping track of what you learn on your "problem-research sheet." At the end of today's session, write a comment on this Blog about what you learned today and where you learned it from! Your Blog comment should be at least 100 words!
Have fun!

Blog Entry/Comment #4
Hello everyone!! Today we are mixing it up a bit. You will need to read two different newspaper articles before your comment on the blog today. You have the option of printing the articles out and reading them or reading them on the computer:
Step 1: Read this article about Chuck Turner, a Boston politician who has been arrested for bribery (taking money from people so that he will vote to help them). This is a news article and is objective (the writers are not sharing their feelings: http://www.boston.com/news/local/breaking_news/2008/11/fbi_arrests_cit.html
Step 2: Read this editorial about Chuck Turner by a man who Chuck Turner helped out. http://www.boston.com/news/local/massachusetts/articles/2009/03/01/rallying_around_their_man/
Step 3: In the comments section of this blog, share your ideas about Chuck Turner. Do you think he should go to jail? Should he still be allowed to be on the city council? What parts of the different articles made you think they way you do? To get credit your response must be at least 150 words.

Blog Entry/Comment #3
Today's entry will ask you to define the concept of "personality." How is your personality different from your physical self? What has given you the personality you have? How would you define your personality? This is our second official week doing blogs, so this week your answer must be at least 100 words. You should type your response in Microsoft Word first and do a word count and spell check before your post. Have fun!
